By using an interactive map interface, you can view, connect, and engage with professionals within different distance ranges. Whether you want to find connections nearby, explore networking opportunities, or adjust your visibility preferences, the map helps you stay connected while maintaining full control over your privacy.
1. Accessing the Map Feature
Launch the Sociera App: Tap the Sociera icon on your device to open the app.
Navigate to the Map: Tap the Map tab located in the app's navigation menu to open the interactive map.
View Nearby Professionals: The map will display professionals around your current location, updating dynamically as you move.
This feature enables users to engage with their professional network based on proximity, making networking more intuitive and interactive.
2. Understanding Map Indicators
The map categorizes professionals based on their proximity to your current location.
Inner Circle (0-500m): Professionals within this range are displayed with their full profile details, including name, job title, and profile picture.
Outer Circle (500m-10km): Professionals in this range appear with limited visibility, showing only initials and a blurred profile image.
Beyond 10km: Professionals outside this range are not displayed on the map.
These visibility settings ensure that closer connections are highlighted while still allowing professionals within a broader area to be discovered in a privacy-conscious way.
3. Interacting with Nearby Professionals
Selecting a Profile: Tap on a professional’s marker to view their profile details in a bottom sheet. This includes their name, job title, and available social media links.
Zooming and Centering: Pinch to zoom in and out for a detailed view, or tap the Center button to refocus on your location.
Filtering by Distance: Adjust the map filters to show professionals within specific distance ranges.
These interactions help users efficiently browse and connect with relevant professionals while keeping the experience seamless and user-friendly.

Sociera gives users full control over their map visibility, allowing them to adjust their presence based on their preferences.
Visible Mode: Your profile is fully visible to others within the standard proximity rules.
Blurred Mode: Your profile appears with limited details beyond the 500m radius.
Invisible Mode: Your profile is hidden from the map entirely.
To adjust these settings:
Open Settings and go to Privacy > Location Settings.
Select between Visible, Blurred, or Invisible Mode.
Tap Save to apply changes.

Location updates occur dynamically, refreshing when users move at least 100 meters.
The system prioritizes updates for professionals within 500m to maintain accuracy.
Profiles beyond 500m refresh every three minutes to ensure smooth performance.
The map automatically prevents profile indicators from overlapping by dynamically adjusting spacing.
